Getdown Services shut down End of the Road Festival

29 August 2025, 11:38 | Written by Best Fit

Bristol duo Getdown Services brought manic queues and a very British sense of humour to close End Of The Road festival's opening day.

With a hundreds of fans waiting outside the Folly Stage more than an hour before performance time, former schoolmates Josh Law and Ben Sadler played to an at-capacity room. Since releasing their 2023 EP Crisps, the duo have amassed a huge following for their chaotic shows, fuelled by humorous lyricism and electric ‘80s disco beats.

Law and Sadler's high-energy set featured tracks from Crisps, as well as material from their latest EP Primordial Slot Machine released in June –including the live debut of "James Bay’s Hat". “We’re gonna do a song that we’ve never really done before. It's about James Bay and George Ezra - two people that get unnecessarily attacked in this song. But mostly James Bay!”

End of the Road continues this evening with headline sets from Caribou, Joy Orbison and Matt Berninger.

Earlybird tickets for the festival’s 20th anniversary edition in 2026 will be onsale from Tuesday 2 September via endoftheroadfestival.com
