George FitzGerald returns with first new music in two years, "The Ladder"
George FitzGerald has released his new single, "The Ladder".
"The Ladder" follows standalone singles “Gild”, “Incomplete Dreaming” and “Gleams” released in 2024, and is said to introduce a new chapter for the electronic musician. The track, which draws from early-2000s dance music, first started coming together during a session with electronic musician and producer Ghost Culture near Glastonbury, before being completed by FitzGerald at his studio in south-east London.
Speaking about the song, FitzGerald says: “I’m a child of that era, and this track echoes many of the proggy sounds I love from that period. There’s an arc to it: it builds slowly to an emotional high and doesn’t immediately show you its hand. Those are qualities I love in that music, and they’re what I wanted to capture with 'The Ladder'.”
"The Ladder" is out now on Domino
