After months of speculation, Geese has been revealed as the final headliner for this year's End of the Road Festival – returning to the event after their 2023 debut at the Dorset-based event – to play on opening night.

As revealed moments ago by Festival co-founder Simon Taffe talking to Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 6 Music, the band's Woods stage set at Larmer Tree Gardens on Thursday, 3 September will close their late summer run of UK and Ireland shows.

"The powers that be made us keep it a secret", said Taffe. "It's exciting to have them back after playing the Big Top many years ago. We've been working on getting them back since August last year and it just kept on getting bigger and bigger."

Taffe also revealed the Festival's daye splits will be announced next week.

The End of the Road appearance follows dates including Reading/Leeds Festivals, Electric Picnic, and two dates at the Troxy in London. Ahead of that they play a series of festival dates across the US and Canada with a Bonaroo slot this Friday.
