Future Islands celebrate 20 years together with new album, From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth
Future Islands have announced their new album, From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth, and shared new singles "Sail" and "Find Love".
From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth serves as a collection tracing the North Carolina-born synth-pop band from their beginnings in 2006 to their seventh album , People Who Aren't There Anymore, released in 2024. Today, they share two tracks from the upcoming work, "Sail" and "Find Love".
From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth features twenty songs for twenty years, with the tracks first gathered onto a playlist by bassist William Cashion, who also chose the album's title. “I’ve always loved the imagery of that lyric. The hole in the floor is the everyday, but the fountain is the magic that happens when the life you dreamed about actually becomes the one you’re living. It’s the dream and the reality existing in the same room," he explains. The collection features alternate hits, rarities, and fan favourites, which will also be available across double vinyl.
