flirty800 announces Strip EP, shares "Smoke" from new b4 partnership
New York producer and DJ flirty800 has detailed a new EP, Strip, via a new partnership between the b4 label and ADA, the independent distribution and service arm for emerging artists.
Scheduled for release on 7 May, the record opens with the single “Smoke”, which is out now. flirty800 - real name Wade Harley Harris - describes the EP as a deliberate departure from their previous work. “After making something really personal and emotional, I wanted this project to be the opposite - fast, raw, and instinctive,” they say. “It’s minimal, almost primitive in a way. If there’s a message at all, it’s simple: you should be shaking your ass.”
The DJ/producer’s sound is shaped by years immersed in queer club culture. Having recently appeared on b4’s greatest hits vol. 2 and taken over the 24/7 NYC online station Lot Radio, flirty800 has become a fixture in New York’s underground. They have played Basement, Paragon, and Knockdown Center, as well as events like Jean Paul Gaultier’s New York Fashion Week rave and i-D Magazine’s Paris launch. They now hold a residency at Los Angeles’ Tunnel as their in-house DJ.
flirty800 has two live dates confirmed: an open set for Onlyfire in New York on 11 April, and a Boof! show in San Francisco with DJ USA on 8 May.
