Fiona-Lee is learning self-compassion on new single, "Not My Friends"

12 March 2026, 12:47 | Written by Kayla Sandiford

Fiona-Lee has shared "Not My Friends", the latest song lifted from her upcoming second EP, Every Woman.

"Not My Friends" follows previous singles "Every Woman", "Imposter", and "Victim", as the latest preview of a collection of songs that see Fiona-Lee approach difficult emotional situations with introspection.

Discussing the track, Fiona-Lee explains: “'Not My Friends' is about trying to fill an emotional void at any cost to avoid feeling alone. It came from a time when I was investing in the wrong relationships with the wrong people and accepting less than I deserved because of the “something is better than nothing” mindset. That fear of loneliness can be a hard cycle to break, even when you’re fully aware of it. At its heart, 'Not My Friends' is about self-awareness, recognising misplaced attachments, and having self compassion for when you fall back into those habits.”

Every Woman is released on 17 April via Gravity/CapitolRecords
