Fiona-Lee announces debut EP, Nothing Compares To Nineteen
Fiona-Lee has announced her forthcoming debut EP, Nothing Compares To Nineteen, alongside the release of new single, "To Make Me Feel Good".
“I wrote ‘To Make Me Feel Good’ when I was going through a hard time with my body image. It’s a song about the idea that you shouldn’t need someone else to make you feel like you’re enough as you are," Fiona-Lee explains.
"I think it’s even worse for young people now because it’s so easy to compare yourself to others online, and I think many of us search for validation through social media and romantic partners - even if they’re not the right people for us. So ‘To Make Me Feel Good’ is about acknowledging how reliant we can be on that and saying maybe it’s not so good for us - as well as generally questioning the amount of importance and pressure that’s actually put on ‘being beautiful’ nowadays.”
With additional production from The Maccabees’ / 86TV’s Hugo White, Fiona-Lee's new single, "To Make Me Feel Good" follows previous EP previews, "When I Wake Up I’m Sad", "Nothing Compares To Nineteen", and her debut single, "Mother".
