Fana Hues to return with new EP, Catch N' Release
R&B singer-songwriter Fana Hues has announced her upcoming EP, Catch N' Release, and shared new single, "Sweet n' Sour."
Catch N' Release is Hues' first solo release since her 2024 album Moth, which was the final instalment of a trilogy of EPs including 2022's flora + fauna and her 2020 debut, Hues. Combined, the three projects track a timeline of growth, healing, intimacy, and self-discovery for Hues, while Catch N' Release sees her move from an introspective place and into more exploratory territory.
"Sweet n' Sour" arrives as the second preview of the EP, following previous single "Recognize".
Catch N' Release is inspired by the ritual of fishing, the process of waiting, pulling something in, and releasing it. The project celebrates curiosity and instinct across six tracks, which show Hues' openness to discovery.
Alongside her solo career, Hues has collaborated with several notable artists in contemporary R&B and hip-hop spaces, including Doechii on "Sunday's Best" as well as Tyler, The Creator and Brent Faiyaz on "SWEET / I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE", in addition to touring alongside Raveena, Snoh Aalegra, and Giveon.
