Faith No More hint at 2027 reunion

After a decade-long hiatus, San Francisco alt-metal band Faith No More have taken to social media to tease their return in 2027.

The post is straightforward — an image of Faith No More's staple octagram emblem over a live crowd, with "2027" in the centre.

While there is no further information detailing what to actually expect from the band with this reunion, it's hopeful signage, considering their last live performance was in 2016 at the Troubadour in Los Angeles — one of two reunion shows with former vocalist Chuck Mosley, which took place one year before he passed away — and their most recent release was their 2015 album, Sol Invictus.

For a while, it seemed as though any sort of return from Faith No More was unlikely. In 2020, keyboardist Roddy Bottum told Kerrang! that the band has no plans to record new music. "There's no plans at all," he said. "I think we're all at an age, or at a time in our lives, where looking back at what we've done is a profound place to be."

Around this time, Faith No More also planned to reunite for more shows, but this was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. When the band attempted to reschedule the shows in 2021, longtime vocalist Mike Patton pulled out due to mental health difficulties. But now, six years later, the not-so-cryptic announcement appears to point at an imminent comeback,
