Ethel Cain drops Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You demos
Ethel Cain has released demos for five songs from her second album, Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You.
In an Instagram post, Ethel Cain shared that she'd be closing out the year with a surprise batch of demos on SoundCloud. The tracks include two different recordings of "a knock at the door" and "tempest", as well as "willoughby's interlude", "nettles (miserable demo)", and "shrug (janie demo)".
In the descriptions, Cain includes lyrics and simple notes for listeners. Under "nettles (miserable demo)", she writes "2023 was a tough year", while under "shrug (janie demo)" she explains that the song "was originally going to be from willoughby's perspective as well. dust bowl was going to transition directly into it. i wound up reworking it a bit to be about janie."
And the Willoughby Tucker story isn't over just yet, as Cain is set to continue touring in support of the album in 2026, with dates in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe.
