Esme Emerson return with new single, “Jackie”
British-Chinese sibling duo Esme Emerson have released their new song, “Jackie”, their first new music of 2026.
“Jackie” follows the pop duo’s EP Applesauce released last year, as well as standalone single “Centipede”. It also comes just as they join Hovvdy for a run of shows across the United Kingdom and Europe.
Speaking about the track, the pair - Esme Lee-Scott and Emerson Lee-Scott - say: “‘Jackie’ is an unforgettable queer love that had to ‘switch and go’, because loving another woman could never be her long-term plan. This song, whilst about a particular girl, is also about all those who disappear. Whether by fear or by violence, many queer people are lost early and hatefully, with nobody to order a casket spray in their name. This song is about them.”
