Geese perform to record-breaking crowd for End of the Road Festival’s opening night

“There’s a lotta you, good lord,” said frontman Cameron Winter, looking upon a sold-out crowd which marked the best turnout on the first night in the festival’s history. The band – who were revealed last month as End of the Road’s secret headliner to celebrate the music and arts festival’s 20^th anniversary – entered the stage to a bespoke video backdrop which referenced British glories such as Rooney’s overhead goal, Mitchell and Webb’s football sketch and “Big John the Boshfather” interspliced with their performance footage.

The 90-minute set saw the four piece play the entirety of 2025’s Getting Killed alongside “2122”, “I See Myself” and “Crusades” from 2023 record 3D Country which sparked thrashing mosh pits and rapture as the band elaborated on their instrumentals. For their encore, the band performed Trinidad with new, improvised lyrics from Winter: “I found my husband’s second phone / He said it was for games / That fucking bastard…”

Winter also shouted out fellow Brooklyn band YHWH Nailgun who performed on the Woods Stage before them, calling them their “best friends in the world.”

"The powers that be made us keep it a secret", said End of the Road’s co-founder Simon Taffe. "It's exciting to have them back after playing the Big Top many years ago. We've been working on getting them back since August last year and it just kept on getting bigger and bigger."
