Eaves Wilder shares a cover of Blur's "She's So High"
Eaves Wilder has rounded off a busy 2023 with the release of a special cover of "She’s So High" by Blur.
The cover has become a favoured part of Wilder’s live show, including her surprise performance on the iconic Other Stage at Glastonbury Festival. “This one is for the 6Music dads,” notes Eaves Wilder. “I've been covering this song with my band in my live set since my very first show in February this year. This version is definitely more spiky, fuzzier and faster. I treated it like I wrote it.”
“Blur were like my gateway band. Through them I loved Elastica, which led to PJ Harvey, then to riot grrrl. Leisure introduced me to shoegaze guitars. I always find myself singing along with Damon an octave up, so I’ve left space in this mix for his part when he stops ignoring my letters and duets with me," she adds.
Eaves Wilder will begin 2024 with two London headline performances including The Line of Best Fit’s Five Day Forecast at The Lexington, and Abbie McCarthy’s Good Karma Club at Colours Hoxton. She has also been named as one of The Great Escape’s First Fifty artists for the festival’s 2024 edition.
Eaves Wilder's rendition of Blur's "She's So High" is out now via Secretly Canadian.
