Drury Hill sign to Private Regcords and release debut single, "Eye to Eye / River"
Leeds slacker-pop band Drury Hill have announced their singing to Private Regcords and shared their debut single, "Eye to Eye / River".
The two tracks serve as a first introduction to the band, formed by Lois Delgado (lead vocals), Charley Clarke-Smee (guitar, vocals), Sol Phillips (drums, percussion, tape machines), and Alfie Phillip (bass).
Recorded with Phil Booth at Nottingham’s JT Soar (Sleaford Mods, Midnight Rodeo, The Cool Greenhouse), it's the band's first release after performing within Leeds' DIY scene, sharing stages with the likes of Dove Ellis, Personal Trainer, Gal Go, and two blinks, i love you.
Speaking about "Eye to Eye / River", Drury Hill share: “'Eye To Eye' and 'River' were written with a new direction in mind. A step back from the nostalgia and humour of the first handful of songs and instead focusing on a more considerate approach to songwriting.
“'Eye To Eye' touches upon losing the closeness and guidance of family- when physical distance interferes with loving someone. What started as a story about lesbian vikings, 'River' has taken on a few different meanings. Broadly, it's about the nurturing, compassionate instincts that show when you want to take care of someone."
"Eye to Eye / River" is out now on Private Regcords
