Drake loses over £500,000 on bet after Barcelona lose to Real Madrid while wearing kit with rapper's OVO Sound logo
Barcelona are being called the "latest victims of the Drake curse" after failing to win against Real Madrid at the weekend while wearing his OVO Sound logo on their kit, and the result also meant he lost over £500,000 after placing a bet on the team to win.
Last week it was revealed that Drake's OVO Sound owl logo would feature on Barcelona's kit during Sunday's (16 October) El Clásico match as part of the football club's partnership with Spotify. It marked the first time that Spotify's logo has been replaced since the streaming platform partnered with the La Liga team earlier this year, and was announced to celebrate the rapper becoming the first artist to pass 50 billion streams on the platform.
Drake celebrated the news of his OVO Sound logo being on Barca's kit by placing a huge bet on two football matches on the weekend, but it didn't go in his favour. He bet $833,333 Canadian dollars (just over £531,000) on both Barcelona and Arsenal winning, but Arsenal were the only team to pull through, with Barcelona losing 3-1. Following the loss, the internet has been highlighting that the "Drake curse" is back, but have also been praising Arsenal for avoiding it.
