Dour confront loss and screen life on debut LP Agora due this June

28 April 2026, 13:30 | Written by Best Fit

Vancouver band Dour have announced their debut album, Agora for a 19 June release and shared its opening track “Neophiliac”.

Agora is described by the band as a record of survival, arriving with additional weight: the material was written and recorded with an earlier three-piece lineup that included bassist Gabe Jacob Ferman, who has since passed away. Rather than leaving the songs behind, the band have chosen to release them as originally intended, preserving that creative partnership.

Since the album was completed, the group has evolved into a new lineup with the new collection of songs functioning as “part document, part outlet, and part way of making sense of the experiences that shaped it," according to announcement.

New single "Neophiliac"introduces the record with lyrics that address the flattening of identity and the experience of living “screen to screen”, according to the band.

The band first emerged with their 2025 EP Rudiments and have since shared stages with CHALK, DZ Death Rays, Omni, Friko, Art d’Ecco and Tropical Fuck Storm.
