Delilah Holliday & They Hate Change release double single, "Eyes On You / Life’s So Strange"
London-based electronic art-pop artist Delilah Holliday has teamed up with Tampa hip-hop duo They Hate Change for a double single, "Eyes On You / Life’s So Strange".
Reflecting on their collaboration, Delilah Holliday explains, “I heard their song ‘From the Floor’ and loved their flow and sonic style, and it turned out Vonne was a big fan of Skinny Girl Diet. He even had a friend send him a zine from one of our London shows years ago, which felt like a nice twist of fate. They were on tour in London, and when we met at a Carnival afterparty, we instantly hit it off. We booked a studio session the following day and wrote and recorded two tracks right then and there.”
They Hate Change elaborate, “Delilah’s lyrics gave us a solid foundation to rhyme about things we’ve seen in the industry over the last couple of years - some cool stuff here and there, but mostly a lot of fronting and posturing. Each verse we laid down is like us stamping new policies - no more playing nice with people who aren’t pushing the art forward, both locally and globally.”
“I love Dre and Vonne, and I’m so glad they contributed to these tracks,” Delilah Holliday adds. “I know we captured the sounds of Florida and London colliding, and you can hear that. I’m very grateful they ventured into my world and left their mark.”
"Eyes On You / Life’s So Strange" is out now via One Little Independent Records.
