Curiosity Shop sign to Fontana Records and share debut single, "Crows"
Edinburgh-based alt-folk band Curiosity Shop have announced their signing to Fontana Records and released their debut single, "Crows".
Formed in 2024 by songwriters Ruairidh Wallace and Sonny Scott, drummer Duncan Biggar, bassist Louis Taige, and multi-instrumentalist Yann McAuley, Curiosity Shop have been playing their way across venues in Scotland, even going on to support Divorce during their 2025 UK tour. Now signed to Fontana (AURORA, dodie, Kurt Vile), they release their first recorded song, "Crows".
Speaking about the song, the band share: “Crows is a really important song to us, not least because it was one of the first Ruairidh and Sonny wrote together, but it was also one of the first we played as a group. Since we started playing gigs it has been hard to pull it from the no.1 spot on our setlist, the accapella start also serves as our pre-show warm up routine (followed by a series of all important hugs). Naturally, this song felt right as our first release.”
