Courtney Marie Andrews announces details of a new album, Valentine
Nashville-based musician Courtney Marie Andrews has announced details of her forthcoming new album, Valentine, alongside the release of new single, "Keeper".
"Keeper" is a tender exploration of what it means to be chosen, and to choose someone in return. “One night over dinner I asked my friend Kate if I was a keeper,” says Andrews. “This question prompted a heartbreaking conversation followed by writing an entire song over a bowl of pasta. Our ultimate landing was that everyone is a keeper if they’re truly in love.”
Last month, Andrews returned with "Cons and Clowns" as her first new song release since the 2022 album Loose Future.
Valentine is “a record in pursuit of love,” says Andrews. “But love, it turns out, is a lot more than I gave it credit for.” The record resonates as a testament to transformation — a portrait of Andrews emerging from grief and pain, and standing in her wisdom on the other side. “I was in one of the darkest periods of my life, and songs were the only way I could reckon with it.”
Courtney Marie Andrews plays a string of solo shows in the UK and Europe over the next fortnight, before returning with her full band through February and March in support of the new album’s release.
