Cosmorat reveal new moniker djank and release POOSHKA EP
Alternative-pop band Cosmorat have announced their name change to djank alongside the release of their EP, POOSHKA, and a visual for new track, "Robbing 5 Points".
The project's opening title track outlines the origins of POOSHKA, with the catalyst coming from anywhere, but always ending up taking hold in the same way resulting in a loss of control. That loss of control is explored throughout the project, initially on "Bad Boys Go To Heaven" – an observation of the celebration of the destructive nature of men and how it can be celebrated, yet condemned when displayed by a woman.
Both "Stealing!!!" and "Robbing 5 Points" look at the rush of committing deviant acts and chasing your vices as a form of escapism, while "Gimme Whatcha Got" defines the understanding that chasing your vices has led to your life feeling like a lost cause, yet continuing to follow that path. Final track "Exit Wound" marks the sobering jolt of a tragic event that stops one in its tracks, while accepting your own fate and succumbing to the feedback loop of your own destructive behaviours.
POOSHKA is out now.
