I knew right away I wanted to collaborate on something together for corto.alto. Earlier this year, we met in London one evening and wrote APRIL - a track that explores themes we both connect with deeply: grief, healing, and resilience. anaiis is a rare and powerful voice in music - soulful, fearless, and honest. “It was wonderful to connect with corto.alto on “APRIL”. After meeting at Theo Croker’s headline show at the Barbican which we were both a part of, we were keen to collaborate together. This song carries one of the main essences and reasons I make music: it’s a place for processing difficult moments in our lives, to feel held, and importantly to find hope. I was inspired by his song title which came from an anecdote he shared with me about life in Scotland which I found beautiful,” anaiis continues.
