cootie catcher announce new album, Something We All Got
Toronto indie-pop band cootie catcher have announced their upcoming third album, Something We All Got, alongside the release of new single "Straight Drop".
"This one came from the frustration of being vulnerable in the ‘wrong’ places. I can fully have a cry in front of strangers while taking the bus, but then clam up when I’m in front of people I’m close with,” explains vocalist and bassist Anita Fowl of the track. “That generally parallels my experience performing live, where I’m so unsure in person but can get so much out on stage.”
This latest preview of new music from the band — formed by Fowl, Nolan Jakupovski (guitar), Sophia Chavez (electronics), and Joseph Shemoun (drums) — follows their single "Gingham Dress" released last month, and their second album, Shy at first, which dropped earlier this year. Something We All Got also sees cootie catcher working in collaboration with Nate Amos (This Is Lorelei, Water From Your Eyes), who is credited with mixing the album.
