Complete Mountain Almanac announce self-titled debut album with lead single "May"
Complete Mountain Almanac, the collaborative project of Rebekka Karijord, Jessica Dessner and her twin brothers Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National, have announced their self-titled debut album with the lead outing "May".
"May" is the debut release from Complete Mountain Almanac, and is accompanied by a video directed by Olof Grind.
Complete Mountain Almanac was formed through a 15-year friendship between Sweden-based singer and composer Rebekka Karijord, and Italy-based poet, dancer and multimedia artist Jessica Dessner. Karijord set out to make an album "about climate change in 12 suites, representing the 12 months of the year," and approached Dessner to do the visual component.
The album was recorded at Paris' St. Germain studios, and features performances and co-production from The National's Aaron and Bryce Dessner. The songs were recorded live, and Bryce Dessner wrote string arrangements for six songs that were performed by the Malmö Symphony Orchestra.
