{C}{O}{M}{B} sign to Brace Yourself Records and release debut single, "Future Days"

Margate-based experimental duo {C}{O}{M}{B} have announced their signing to Brace Yourself Records and shared their first single, "Future Days".

The pair — formed by Ollie Briggs and Django Django bassist Jim Dixon — came together after a chance encounter, when they realised that they'd been making music that exists in the same realm with a shared background in art college, as well as a love for Dada, collage, and avant-garde performance.

Combining Briggs' experience with experimental sound design, tape work, and sampling and Dixon's songwriting, {C}{O}{M}{B} present "Future Days" as their first release.

Speaking about the single, the duo say: “We always embrace mistakes and ‘Future Days’ is a good example of how these different sounds and approaches work together. It started with a chopped up guitar loop that Ollie had and we then spent an evening jamming over it, adding and removing parts as we went: synths, double bass, kalimba, drums, even a piano part on Jim’s kid’s Casio. ‘Future Days’ was a holding title, obviously a Can album, but it stuck!”

"Future Days" is out now on Brace Yourself Records
