Christine and the Queens shares first new album single “Rendez-vous avec toi”
Christine and the Queens has released the first tease from his new – as yet unannounced – album due next spring. “Rendez-vous avec toi” / “Rendez-vous in your arms” arrives before a run of sold-out intimate shows, including London's Scala on 7 December.
The single is paired with a video shot in Paris, co-directed by Christine and the Queens and Raphaël De Albuquerque, with choreography by Alexander Ekman.
“Rendez-vous avec toi” is about desire and tenderness, with Chris stating the inspiration as the "devotion of someone who only waits for you, and the meaning you give to life itself by your mere presence. Characteristically whimsical and oblique, he also described the release as “the new interstellar traveling of Christine and the Queens”. Check it out below.
The December shows will feature a full band – two Vincents (Taeger and Taurelle) plus Adrian Edeline and Karl Onibuje – and will include fan favourites as well as debuting new material. Chris said: “The shows with my audience are the highlights of my life. We will revisit a repertoire that made us grow together, and give a first listen to unreleased songs from the next album.”
The dates are Brussels’ Botanique on 1 December, London’s Scala on 7 December, Amsterdam’s Tolhuistuin on 8 December, and Paris’ Alhambra on 10 December. All are sold out.
