Chicago’s The Back Alley announce debut album Back At Home with written-on-the-road single
Buzzy Chicago indie rock band The Back Alley have announced their debut album, Back At Home, due on 22 January 2027. The band have also shared new single “Pick Me Up”, written on the road and bridging their early work with their new era.
The five-piece – lead singer Ralph Porter, guitarist Jaden Cone, drummer Ben Kremer, and Ax & the Hatchetmen members Sal Defilippis and Hunter Olshefke – formed in 2022 and debuted with an EP titled Live From Picture-Minded Studio. “Pick Me Up” was written while on tour and, according to the band, addresses circumstances outside your control that keep you from your loved ones.
The band said the single was chosen to announce the record because it “feels like a perfect transition from the past Back Alley sound of catchy guitar licks and melodies … to the open and mature sound we have found within the new album.”
The Back Alley are currently supporting DICE through early November, with three dates supporting The Stews to follow. Recent months have also seen the band supporting Hippo Campus, The Runarounds, Empire Of The Sun, and West 22nd. Headline shows will be announced soon.
Back At Home is released on 22 January 2027
