Chartreuse get vulnerable on new single, "I'm Losing It"
Black Country four-piece Chartreuse have shared their latest single, "I’m Losing It".
Following recent release, "Sequence of Voices", the new single "I'm Losing It" details piano player and vocalist Hattie Wilson’s experiences of undergoing major surgery at 29-years-old.
"The verses are about me being stuck in my own head, the thought of the operation was like a loop going round in my mind for months. I knew how long the journey was going to be - it still is ongoing, and that weighs heavy on me. I had a lot of questions, and I wondered whether I was strong enough to essentially re-learn how to walk again. At the time I couldn't understand how life was just moving as normal around me, and that terrified me," Wilson explains.
"The choruses were this sort of self made guilt trip. I felt endlessly guilty that I'd need a lot of help throughout the recovery from my boyfriend, and my family and friends. I felt like a burden… but all these feelings were only my warped perception, and everyone around me has been incredibly helpful and caring," she continues.
Later this evening, the band will perform at Hoxton Hall in London for their headline show, with Sam Tudor as support.
"I’m Losing It" is out now. Remaining tickets for their headline show are available here.
