Charlotte OC announces new EP, Seriously Love, Go Home
Singer-songwriter Charlotte OC has returned with the announcement of her new EP, Seriously Love, Go Home, alongside the release of its next single, "Romeo".
"It's about meeting someone and realising how similar you are, like maybe neither of you are angels. But maybe two wrongs can make a right, where you're stronger together and no one else can keep up," Charlotte OC says of the track which follows recent release, "God, We Tried".
Speaking about the video, directed by Stewart Baxter, Charlotte OC divulges: "I wanted to create something that reflects how easy it is to become accustomed to destroying everything that comes your way - when chaos is all you've known, or when nothing has ever made you want to stay. And then I wanted to capture the moment when someone comes along and, without even realising it you both begin to meet in the middle. There's no grand gesture - just a quiet, mutual effort to grow, to heal, to fix the parts of you that have long been broken, but only start to mend in the presence of the other."
"'Seriously Love, Go Home' is the sound of me finally facing myself. It's the aftermath of grief, self-sabotage, love gone wrong, and crawling back to the one place I never thought I'd return to. It's hope and helplessness. It's exactly what I needed to make to get myself through that time," Charlotte says. "I was in such a rut for a long time, and making this EP I feel like I've found my way out, somehow," she continues. "These five tracks really represent a particular time in my life, and recording them felt like a huge weight off my shoulders, as though I was finally able to find some catharsis."
Charlotte OC is also set to return to the stage for the first time in three years, with headline shows in Manchester and London in July, as well as a performance at SXSW London in June.
Seriously Love, Go Home will be released on 11 July via Embassy of Music, and is available to pre-order now.
