Charli xcx details Music, Fashion, Film arena tour across US
Following the announcement of her new album Music, Fashion, Film, Charli xcx has announced the Music, Fashion, Film Tour, a 12-date run across US arenas this autumn.
The tour, promoted by Live Nation, will see Charli headline a string of large-capacity rooms, including two nights at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on 14 and 15 September and two at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on 17 and 18 October. Support on all dates comes from underscores, aka April Harper Grey, a Californian songwriter/producer who released her third album U through Mom+Pop in March of this year.
A pre-sale for the tour begins 12 June at 9am local time, requiring registration by 10 June, with a general sale following the same day at 1pm local time.
Charli is also
introducing a new ticketing model for the run. Dubbed “Angel Tickets”, a
limited batch of $20 seats will be released in August, sold in pairs
and with locations disclosed only on the day of the show. The seats can
range from upper level to GA Floor, are non-transferable, and taxes and
fees apply on top. Separately, a number of charity tickets in the first
five rows of each venue will direct 50% of net proceeds to the
Transgender Law Center.
Before the tour begins, Charli is scheduled to play Chicago’s Lollapalooza on 31 July, San Francisco’s Outside Lands on 7 August, and the UK’s Reading and Leeds festivals on 28 and 29 August. Last week, she announced a new album, Music, Fashion, Film, set for release on 24 July. Charli has multiple BRIT and Grammy awards and has expanded into film in recent years, working as an actor, writer, producer and composer with directors Takashi Miike, Greg Araki and Cathy Yann.
