Celine Dion returns to stage at the Olympics following stiff person syndrome diagnosis
On Friday evening (26 July), Celine Dion returned to the stage after a two-year hiatus due to being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome.
At the end of 2022, Celine Dion had to postpone all touring commitments, pushing back her spring 2023 European tour dates to 2024 due to being diagnosed with a "very rare neurological disorder called the stiff person syndrome". As the illness worsened, she still hasn't been able to reschedule her tour dates, but in a huge achievement, made her return to the stage at the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony.
In an interview with Vogue France, in April, Dion teased her comeback: “I’ve chosen to work with all my body and soul, from head to toe, with a medical team. I want to be the best I can be. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!”
