Cat Clyde to make Concord Records debut with new album, Mud Blood Bone
Canadian artist Cat Clyde has announced her upcoming fourth album, Mud Blood Bone, her first release on Concord Records, and released lead single "Another Time".
Mud Blood Bone will follow Cat Clyde's 2023 album Down Rounder, with "Another Time" arriving as the first preview of the upcoming collection. As her first release with Los Angeles label Concord Records, Clyde will join a roster which includes Daffo, Matt Berninger, Spacey Jane, and more.
Speaking on the new track, Clyde explains: "While writing this song, I was pondering my experience of connection and intimacy, alongside the reality that life is constantly moving and changing. Thinking about the power to bottle up and lean into meaningful moments and memories. Considering how bittersweet it is for beautiful moments to be, knowing they all become a ripple in time. Wondering about different timelines - time is not linear. Having the power to shift myself and my reality into new timelines, and different selves. This song speaks to the grief and the joy of evolving constantly.”
Produced with Drew Vandenberg (Toro Y Moi, Faye Webster, S.G. Goodman) with a co-write with singer-songwriter Courtney Marie Andrews, Mud Blood Bone sees Clyde touch upon her indigenous Métis heritage, redefining her relationship with love through a re-established connection with nature.
