Caroline Polachek shares new single "Sunset" produced with Sega Bodega
Caroline Polachek has delivered her new single "Sunset", which she produced alongside Sega Bodega.
"Sunset" is Polachek's first outing since sharing the Danny L Harle-produced "Non Voglio Mai Vedere Il Sole Tramontare" track that features in the Last Days opera based on Gus Van Sant's 2005 film of the same name earlier this month, and lands with a video directed by Matt Copson and Polachek.
The new song was produced by Polachek alongside Sega Bodega. She says of the track, "Resolution is so rare in life, but music is unnaturally full of it. A sunset is the biggest pop cliche ever, because it's a perfect resolution. Ennio Morricone passed away a few months before Salvador (Sega Bodega) and I started "Sunset", and the folkloric, epic tone of the spaghetti western sunset played on my mind. I wanted an operatic chorus with no lyrics, but salted with some very real disillusionment: past all the distraction, dead ends, and false promises of the world is the love we too often take for granted. That's my sunset."
Prior to releasing "Non Voglio Mai Vedere Il Sole Tramontare" last week, Polachek appeared on Flume's "Sirens", produced Hyd's July single "Afar", covered Nancy Sinatra's "Bang Bang" for the Minions: The Rise of Gru soundtrack, and released "Billions".
