Cameron Winter’s Carnegie Hall performance filmed by Paul Thomas Anderson
Last night, Cameron Winter made his solo debut at Carnegie Hall — with directors Paul Thomas Anderson and Benny Safdie making an appearance to film it.
In an attendee-recorded video, Paul Thomas Anderson (One Battle After Another, There Will Be Blood, Boogie Nights) can be seen filming Cameron Winter on stage with Panavision 35mm gear during his performance of “Nina + Field of Cops”, assisted by and Benny Safdie (Uncut Gems, Good Time, Heaven Knows What). The Phrasemaker reported that attendees noted a film set-up from the balcony throughout the duration of Winter’s sold-out show. No details have been revealed about what the concert footage will be used for.
As if the night couldn’t get any more exciting, attendees have also reported sightings of Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio and Khruangbin bassist Laura Lee, as well as actors Joe Keery and Lucas Hedges.
