Brooke Combe signs to Fontana Records and shares new single, "Tears Won't Lie"
Scottish singer-songwriter Brooke Combe has signed to Fontana Records and released her new song, "Tears Won't Lie".
"Tears Won't Lie" arrives as Combe's first release on Fontana (AURORA, dodie, Kurt Vile), and follows her 2025 debut album Dancing At The Edge Of The World. The track was produced by The Coral’s James Skelly at Kempston Studios in Liverpool, and is accompanied by a music video directed by James Slater (CMAT, Sam Fender, Jamie T).
Speaking about the song, Combe explains: “’Tears Won’t Lie’ is a song that explores the truth that surfaces after a relationship falls apart. It’s about someone who has spent years hiding their pain behind a smile, only to be confronted with the emotional reality they can’t suppress anymore. Sort of like the moment grief, self-awareness and reality meet, and you’re suddenly awake and won’t lose yourself to love again.”
“The influence soul music has had on the world of music often gets lost on people,” she says of the soul community within Scotland and the UK. “Sometimes it feels like everyone believes indie and rock music is what built UK music, but truthfully all of that came from the influence of soul scenes.”
"Tears Won't Lie" is out now on Fontana Records
