Watch Bonnie "Prince" Billy cover Pink live in session for Best Fit
Among a handful of the modern greats in American songwriting, both Will Oldham and Pink hold a unique place.
After opening for Yo La Tengo at their Bowery Ballroom show back in December last year, Oldham rejoined the Hoboken trio for their encore, taking on an unlikely cover of "Trustfall" by Pink– and now you can here Oldham's solo version of the synthpop club banger in all its stripped back, tender glory.
It's a bit more melancholic and a lot more tender, and was recorded in the prestigious Empire Room at early 18th-century pub The Lamb in Bloomsbury, London. A regular haunt of Charles Dickens, it was also a place where Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath used to meet in the early days of their relationship.
The latest Bonnie "Prince" Billy record We Are Together Again was released earlier this month on Domino Records and is Will Oldham's 32nd release since he debuted under the Palace Brothers name in 1993.
