Blur to play first headline show in more than seven years at Wembley Stadium in summer 2023
Blur have announced a one-off reunion show at Wembley Stadium for next summer, which will mark their first headline show in over seven years.
This morning (14 November) Blur announced that they'll be playing Wembley Stadium for the first time in July 2023, marking their first headline show together since 2015.
Damon Albarn said of the upcoming show, "We really love playing these songs and thought it's about time we did it again."
Graham Coxon added, "I'm really looking forward to playing with my Blur brothers again and revisiting all those great songs… Blur live shows are always amazing for me. A nice guitar and an amp turned right up and loads of smiling faces."
"There's always something really special when the four of us get in a room," Alex James said. "It's nice to think that on 8th July that room will be Wembley Stadium."
Drummer Dave Rowntree said, "After the chaos of the last few years, it's great to get back out to play some songs together on a summer's day in London. Hope to see you there."
Albarnis currently preparing to release a new Gorillaz album titled Cracker Island in February 2023, while Rowntree has a debut solo album titled Radio Songs landing in January 2023. Coxon is also busy with The WAEVE, a collaborative project with Rose Elinor Dougall, and their self-titled debut album arrives in February 2023.
