Sabrina Teitelbaum, aka Blondshell, has released a new track titled “Heart Has To Work So Hard” via Partisan Records, an introduction to her forthcoming LP, though further album details have not yet been confirmed.

The song marks her first new music since last year’s If You Asked For A Picture and its companion release Another Picture.

“This song is really about friendship and betrayal, getting stuck in a dynamic and letting things fester,” Teitelbaum explained. “It’s about pain and confusion — no one trains you for the ups and downs of a friendship between two women — but it’s also about a love so enduring that you find compassion no matter what.”

Alongside the single, Blondshell has announced her largest headline tour to date, including North American and European/UK dates this autumn. The UK leg includes a stop at the Roundhouse in London on 15 December, which the artist describes as her biggest UK headline show to date. She will also play Manchester’s O2 Ritz on 12 December and Glasgow’s The Old Fruitmarket on 13 December.

The tour opens in San Diego on 14 October and runs through mid-December. Support on select dates comes from Bully, Starcleaner Reunion, Prewn, TTSSFU, and Theatre. Tickets go on sale on 22 May at 10am local time.

Teitelbaum recently performed “Heart Has To Work So Hard” live for the first time at the Coachella festival.
