Black Mekon announce new album 13 Songs About Monsters for Halloween release
Garage rock duo Black Mekon have revealed plans for their upcoming album, 13 Songs About Monsters, and released new single "Radioactive Wolfman".
13 Songs About Monsters follows the band's 2023 album NEAT, with blues-inspired track "Radioactive Wolfman" arriving as the first preview of the album, set to arrive just ahead of Halloween.
Over the past two decades, the duo have toured across America, Europe and Japan by the likes of Jack White, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Guitar Wolf and King Brothers, having released roughly thirteen albums and nine 7" singles, along with creating their own video game, action figures, bubblegum, a fully functional arcade machine, "Mekonizer" fuzz pedals, an animated movie and several comics.
13 Songs About Monsters builds on the Black Mekon universe with thirteen tales of monsters, murder, witchcraft and paranormal happenings — described as their "most devious and rocking" work. The album will also be released on limited edition glow in the dark vinyl and digitally, with the band playing a special release day show at The Hare & Hounds in Birmingham on 30 October.
