Billboard apologise to Taylor Swift for including clip of Kanye West revenge porn whilst naming her one of the greatest pop stars of the 21st century
Billboard recently shared their list of the Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century. They have come under fire for including a snippet of the Taylor Swift doll in Kanye West's "Famous" music video.
Alongside celebrating all of Taylor Swift's successes, and sharing her accolades, Billboard shared a video summing up all of her achievements. Included in the video was a clip of Kanye West's music video for "Famous", in which there's a doll that strongly resembles Taylor Swift. Many have called this revenge porn, due to their controversies over the year.
After coming under fire for including this, Billboard have issued an apology to Taylor Swift and her fans. "We are deeply sorry to Taylor Swift and all of our readers and viewers that in a video celebrating Swift’s achievements, we included a clip that falsely depicted her," they wrote. "We have removed the clip from our video and sincerely regret the harm we caused with this error."

Taylor Swift doesn't appear to be the only female artist who suffered misogyny amidst praise, as on user on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: "using a revenge porn pic in a video which is supposed to highlight taylor swift's career, chris brown's violence in an article about rihanna, bringing up britney's conservatorship abuse and nicki minaj's beefs just shows that billboard is misogynistic asf."
In response to this, another user commented: "They also mentioned the Manchester accident on Ariana Grande’s article But In jayz’s article they don’t mention his close ties to P. Diddy … ain’t that some shit"
