Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion debut "Savage (Remix)" live in Houston, Texas
Last week, rumours were circulating that Megan Thee Stallion was to join Beyoncé on stage during the Houston shows of the Renaissance tour to give "Savage (Remix)" its live debut.
Earlier this month, Megan Thee Stallion pulled out of headlining Global Citizen Festival 2023 in New York's Central Park due to a scheduling conflict. The festival posted a simple tweet which read, “Hi there — due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, Megan Thee Stallion will no longer be available to perform at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival.”
Page Six revealed that the real reason behind Megan Thee Stallion pulling out of her headline performance, is because she was invited by Beyoncé to perform on one of the two dates at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas – their shared home state. And so, the rumours were true.
Whilst they have performed their “Savage” remix on their own multiple times, this was their live debut of performing together .
“Do we have any savage ladies and gentlemen in Houston tonight?” Beyoncé asked before bringing Megan Thee Stallion out. After her verse, Beyoncé said: “Don’t she make you proud? She makes me proud,” and Megan responded with an “I love you, Beyoncé!” The duo then had a moment of twerking for the crowd, following which Beyoncé said: "I love you queen," to which Megan responded with another "I love you, Beyoncé", and a huge squeal of excitement.
Megan Thee Stallion is set to star in the seventh season of Netflix comedy, Big Mouth, which is due to premiere on 20 October.
