Berwyn unveils new single, "I AM BLACK"
Mercury Prize-nominated artist Berwyn has unveiled his second single of the year, "I AM BLACK".
Berwyn returned last month with brand new comeback single "Neighbours" – a track that saw two versions released, one solo and one reworked by DJ / Producer Fred again...
"I AM BLACK" is an anthemic, fist-in-the air statement underpinned by a heavy sadness that shines a light on the harsh realities of so many people in his situation across the country and beyond. Speaking about the writing process Berwyn states: “I really wanted to make an opportunity in the world where people can say those three words in a positive way... I left a country where colour doesn’t matter so much, moving from blackness to Romford. you’re forced into corners of survival.”
"I AM BLACK" is out now via Columbia Records.
