Berlin synth-punk trio Die Anstalt sign to City Slang and announce re-issue of debut album
Die Anstalt have announced their signing to City Slang, and shared plans to reissue their self-titled, independently released debut album.
Singer Carmen Redeker, guitarist Jakob Feyerherm, and bassist Emanuele Mattei formed Die Anstalt in 2023. They released their first EP Rat Race in 2024, introducing their early EBM, synth-punk and post-punk-inspired sound, and went on to self-release Die Anstalt on a limited vinyl run. The album will be re-issued on City Slang as a deluxe LP version, featuring a brand new track.
Alongside the news of the signing and re-release, the band have also shared a new live performance of their song "Kalter Schweiss", lifted from Die Anstalt.
Discussing the signing, City Slang share: "It was love at first sight, but like any healthy relationship, we had to get to know each other first. We explained who we are, why we think they're great, and asked ourselves: how could we support them without asking them to compromise what made them special in the first place? It's extremely important to us that this band keeps doing exactly what it does.”
Ahead of the release, the band will be joining A Place To Bury Strangers for their UK and Ireland tour, as well as playing a hometown headline show at Berlin's SO36 in November.
