Bel Cobain unveils new single, "Change"
Bel Cobain has shared her new single, "Change", the latest preview of her upcoming EP, Kizzy.
"Change" was written with producer and songwriter Fred Cox, and follows previous singles “Am I Dumb” and “Fucking City” as a more psychedelic-inspired track.
Speaking about the process behind the song, Cobain says: "He (Fred) held a lot of space for me through that transitional time. Sometimes we’d just get in the studio and record acoustic covers to tunes like Metallica and smoke it up talking about the Universe and all the funny patterns in it. It meant we were in flow state so these tunes we began to make, wrote themselves through me. Sometimes I even listen back now, learning lessons from new interpretations of those lyrics . ‘Change’ was written while Fred played guitar so after laying the vocal a couple times, Fred played drums over them. I can literally remember feeling like something perfect had been born when I heard him lay the track. It just laced the whole story together perfectly, and he did it in like 1 take."
Kizzy is released on 24 April via Brownswood Recordings
