Bambara announce forthcoming fifth studio album, Birthmarks
Brooklyn trio have Bambara announced their new album Birthmarks which is accompanied by the release of new single, “Pray To Me”.
Commenting on the track’s offbeat and noir-esque narrative Bambara vocalist Reid Bateh says: “Pray To Me is about a one-eyed man arriving at a country karaoke night with a knife in his pocket and a plan to win over a girl called Elena, the object of his obsession. His fantasy unravels, murderously, when he sees her kissing a stranger at the bar.”
Birthmarks follows Bambara's previous albums, Dreamviolence (2013) Swarm (2016), Shadow of Everything (2018), and the 2020 breakthrough, Stray.
Additionally, the band have announced news of an extensive UK and EU tour for April and May 2025, with dates in Leeds, Glasgow, Bristol, London, Groningen, Oslo, Berlin, Paris, and more.
Birthmarks is set for release on 14 March via Bella Union and is available to pre-order here.
