August detail new live EP, August (Live From The Horse Hospital)

15 October 2026, 15:03 | Written by Kayla Sandiford

London-based quintet August have announced their upcoming EP, August (Live From The Horse Hospital), and an exclusive cassette release in collaboration with Chalkpit Cassette Club.

Formed by vocalist and guitarist August Janklow, guitarist and vocalist Patraic O’Donnell, keyboardist Rory Wilson, bassist and vocalist Iain “Cannon” Buchanan, drummer and vocalist Nate Drums Wicks as well as Miranda Gray-Aragoneses on violin and fiddle and Niki Moosavi on cello, August have been a live force — performing at The Great Escape, The George Tavern, The Shacklewell Arms, selling out a residency at The Horse Hospital, and performing shows in New York.

The band refuse to describe what they sound like. Harry Nilsson, Tom Waits, Beck, TV on the Radio, The Flaming Lips, Fountains of Wayne, LCD Soundsystem, Kate Bush, D’Angelo, Massive Attack, Scott Walker and DakhaBrakha are somewhere in the melting pot, but trying to draw a straight line between all of that would probably miss the point. August are more interested in what happens when seemingly incompatible things share the same room.

The EP release follows the band's residency and arrives ahead of the band’s first single, which is yet to be announced. In addition to its digital release, the live album will also get a physical release through a collaboration with Chalkpit Cassette Club, which has made exclusive cassettes for Fontaines D.C., Phoebe Bridgers, Charli XCX and Turnstile, among others.
