Angelo De Augustine shares the title track from his forthcoming album Toil and Trouble
Ahead of its release at the end of the month, Angelo De Augustine shares the title track to his forthcoming album, Toil and Trouble.
"Toil and Trouble" arrives alongside a claymation video directed by Angelo and created by Clara Murray.
Speaking of the track Angelo says: "As we all know, we are living in a world within another. A place of specific curation and design where the mind is the chief architect in command. I often wonder who the mind is working for? Who is behind the curtain pulling the strings and transmitting the messages?"
Clara Murray, who also made the dreamlike video for the last single, "The Ballad of Betty and Barney Hill" explains: ""Toil and Trouble" takes place in a dusty room alight with magic, tucked away but teeming with magic. Flying pop-up books and a singing cauldron give birth to mystica creatures, tapped into a sorcery seemingly both wicked and holy."
Toil and Trouble is De Augustine’s first solo effort since 2019’s third album, Tomb, which was produced by Thomas Bartlett. The eponymous track follows last year's standalone double singles "27" / "Hologram", "Another Universe", and "The Ballad of Betty and Barney Hill".
"Toil and Trouble" is out now. Toil and Trouble will be released 30 June via Asthmatic Kitty Records and is available to pre-order.
