Anderson .Paak and Cordae team up on upcoming collaborative album, Heavy Is the Crown
Artist and producer Anderson .Paak and rapper Cordae have detailed their joint album, Heavy Is the Crown, due in October.
The project is born from years of mutual respect and creative development between the artists, following their first collaboration on "RNP" from Cordae's debut album The Lost Boy. On the whole, the album takes inspiration from Step Brothers — which the cover art is a nod to — by celebrating brotherhood and artistic chemistry. Check out the trailer for Heavy Is the Crown below:
The new album follows Anderson .Paak's celebration of the 10-year anniversary of his album Malibu earlier this year, which saw him release an exclusive vinyl and cassettes. He also earned a place among TIME's 100 Most Influential People in 2026, and his most recent album, Why Lawd?, released under his NxWorries project with producer Knxwledge, won Best Progressive R&B Album at the 2025 Grammys.
Cordae has earned multiple Grammy nominations and platinum-certified records, with collaborations alongside Eminem, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Stevie Wonder, while his debut album The Lost Boy has positioned him as a notable lyricist within the contemporary rap scene.
