Amanda Seyfried to join Daniel Blumberg for The Testament of Ann Lee concert at the Barbican
The Barbican has announced that Amanda Seyfried, leading actress in The Testament of Ann Lee, will be performing songs from the film alongside composer Daniel Blumberg in a special show.
The performance will be taking place at Milton Court Concert Hall on 8 February, ahead of the film’s UK release on 20 February, and will see Daniel Bumberg and Amanda Seyfried joined by an ensemble consisting of violinist Billy Steiger, vocalists Ilana Blumberg, Maggie Nicols, and Phil Minton, percussionist Steve Noble, and double bassist Tom Wheatley.
The Testament of Ann Lee, directed by Mona Fastvold, is a retelling of the life of Ann Lee, who founded and led the Shaker movement. Blumberg’s soundtrack, which was released this month, is comprised of ten traditional Shaker hymns, three original songs, and the film's score.
