Alex Burey signs to Double Six and unveils new song, "Unspoken"
Multi-instrumentalist and producer Alex Burey has announced his signing to Domino imprint Double Six and shared his new single, "Unspoken".
"Unspoken" is Burey's first release on the label, and follows a string of previous standalone singles. Burey is also credited for his work writing for Matt Maltese and Puma Blue, producing for Matt Maltese, Sasha Keable, Loyle Carner and Sarah Meth, and playing guitar on Lily Allen's 2014 track, "Sheezus".
“'Unspoken' was created during the early hours in my studio," Burey says of the song's origins. "At the time I had lots of lamps in there which created a certain mood which inspired the guitar tones which I began with. The drums were a nod to Shuggie Otis and created using a 70s drum machine loop. Lyrically it was inspired by a first love break up! The final part was recording the saxophone lines with Dom Kirtley.”
"Unspoken" is out now on Double Six
