Adrianne Lenker presents her new single, "Ruined"
Adrianne Lenker – the musician also known as the lead vocalist, guitarist and principal songwriter of Big Thief – has shared the brand new single, "Ruined".
"Ruined" serves as the intro to Lenker’s highly anticipated new solo album, which she has announced will be coming in 2024. Of the single, Lenker says: “This song has been a quiet beacon for me. It may contain the essence of the gift of romantic love but it’s mostly about something much bigger.”
The accompanying "Ruined" video was directed by Adrianne’s brother Noah Lenker, and collages footage of Lenker in autumnal foliage.
In January, Lenker will teach an online song-writing workshop through School of Song. The course will be taught via live Zoom lectures across 4 consecutive Sundays in January, with two lecture sessions on each class day to accommodate different time zones, one of which will be at 7pm UK time. The cost of the workshop is $160 total, and a 20% discount is available for those who sign up with a friend. The deadline to sign up is on 7 January.
Adrienne Lenker’s newly announced tour dates include stops across Europe and the UK, including a show at London’s famed Barbican Centre.
"Ruined" is out now via 4AD. Tickets for Adrienne Lenker's forthcoming live dates are on sale from 8 December at 10am GMT via adriannelenker.com. For more information on the songwriting workshop, visit schoolofsong.org.
